Guava Cream Cheese Pastries
Cuban pastries or turnovers filled with guava paste and cream cheese.

1 10 ounce block guava paste,
1 8 ounce pack cream cheese,
1 tablespoon water,
1 large egg,
1 17 ounce pack puff pastry sheets,
1/4 cup demerara sugar
Put the oven on at 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
Heat the guava paste in the microwave until it is easy to stir. Mix in the cream cheese.
In another bowl beat together the water and egg with a fork.
Take the pastry, roll it and cut it into 9 squares.
Put some of the guava mixtures on each square. Brush the egg mix around the rim of each pastry and then fold the pastry over.
Put 3 slits on the top of each pastry. Put the rest of the egg mix and the sugar on top of the pastries and bake for 10 minutes.
