Ingredients

  • 3 lb rump ( or pot roast )
  • 3 carrots ((medium) peeled and cut into 11/2" pieces)
  • 1/2 c water (or beef broth)
  • 3 potatoes ((medium) peeled, quartered)
  • 2 onions (quartered )
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Braise roast until brown on all sides in a small amount of oil.
  2. Add vegetables, broth, and seasonings.
  3. Cover and cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 hours or until meat reaches the desired level of doneness.
  4. Optional: you can add a package of dried onion soup, green peppers, 1 clove minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, or additional seasonings for a personal taste.
