Japanese Hamburger Steak is quite commonly found in Japan. It’s commonly called “Hambaagaa” or “Hambagu”.

Ingredients

200 g ground pork (or beef)

1 spring onion, cut diagonally

1 packet shimeji mushrooms (discard roots)

Patty mixture:

1/2 brown onion, minced finely

3 tablespoon breadcrumbs

2 tablespoon sake

1 small egg

salt and pepper

Sauce:

250 ml Dashi stock (soup stock)

2 tablespoon sake

1 tablespoon light soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon mirin/sweet sake

1 tablespoon potato starch mix with 2 tablespoon water

cooking oil
