Onion Soup Swiss Steak is a very delicious dish! Onions and peppers and tomatoes all cooking slowly together. For this recipe, you need round steaks. You can use French onion soup in cans, or cook it from onion, cream, and cheese.

  • 2 lb tenderized round steak
  • 2 cans French onion soup
  • 1/2 cup  flour
  • 1 onion  (sliced)
  • 2 cans tomatoes ((10 oz.))
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Cut steak into serving-size pieces. Lightly coat with flour and braise in a small amount of oil.
  2. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle soup mix over meat and add onion and tomatoes.
  3. Cover and cook over low to medium heat for 2 to 3 hours or until meat is tender.
